Things are about to get fun, explosively colourful and brilliantly messy at The Model with our children’s paint workshops, commencing on July 11th and running until the end of the month. Catering for all ages, The Model invites its youthful artists to let loose and imaginatively explore freely through paint and color, under the supervision of our experienced artists.
Paint Power, runs from 11-13 of July, 11am to 1pm for children aged 8-12 years at €30/€25 . This is a perfect opportunity for this age group to discover the explosive power of paint over a three day session. Balloons will be used to ‘paint bomb’ a giant mural on the hoarding of The Model featuring creatures and landscapes born from the children’s use of colours and imagination! Note to parents – this is not for the faint-hearted. It is advisable to wear something that you don’t mind getting colourful. Led by artist Pia Lück.
The Big Draw Big Splash Summer Camp follows swiftly from 18, 19 & 20 July 11.00 am – 2.30 pm for 2-4 year olds for some hands on fun also Inspired by the popular children’s story ‘The Queen of Colours’’, this camp gives toddlers a chance to embrace a world of colour creating paintings more than double their size using brushes, splashes, sponges, hand, foot and body prints. It costs €30/€25 for the three days and each day a new primary colour is introduced as the Queen asks us to colour her kingdom!
To coincide with this summer’s international painting exhibition Up The Walls, The Model wants to transfer a sense of organised Up The Walls chaos into a workshop for 4-7 year olds starting Wed-Fri, 25, 26 and 27 July, 11am-1pm at a price of €30/€25 concession. The children are invited to use paint in a hundred different way in the creation of a collaborative masterpiece, Led by Naomi Draper.
