Sligo welcomes the documentary filmmaker of the ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’, Khashyar Darvich for a special one-off screening of the documentary, ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ in The Model Cinema, at 8.15pm. A Q&A with the director will follow this screening.

There will be a very special screening of the ‘Dalai Lama Renaissance’ this Wednesday in The Model Cinema, on July, 4th at 8.15pm. After this one-off screening, there will be a Q&A with the director.

Featuring the Dalai Lama, and narrated by actor Harrison Ford, the film tells the story of 40 Western innovative thinkers who travel to the Himalayan Mountains of India to meet with the Dalai Lama to solve many of the world’s problems.

Foreseeing the importance of this event, documentary filmmaker, Khashyar Darvich (sponsored by the Wakan Foundation for the Arts) sought to capture the event on film. What happened was powerful and unexpected, and was captured by a five camera and an 18-person crew.
Khashyar has just finished a tour of England and Scotland and is looking forward to meeting and sharing the experience of this unique film with the Sligo audience.

The Dalai Lama Renaissance film has won 12 awards, is the official selection of over 40 international film festivals.
