Culture Night Sligo is an evening of free late night culture for all ages taking place on Friday September 21 2012.

Over 20 events, all free-of-charge, will take place at Sligo’s leading arts venues; The Hawk’s Well Theatre, The Model and The Factory. Running from early evening until very late, there will be something for everyone, young and old alike.

The Hawk’s Well Theatre has a night of great music in store, showcasing the breadth and diversity of Sligo’s musical talent. Presented by Sligo’s own Tabby Callaghan, acts will include The Candles, Ruby Ridge, The Corrupt, Grizzly Dippers and This Side Up. Earlier in the day there will be an interesting round table discussion on a day in the life of a theatre practitioner held at the Hawk’s Well also.

The Model will open its doors on the night with a wonderful line up of exhibitions, music, film screenings and open studios. The Model Cinema will host an evening of fun family films including perennial favourites The Gruffalo and Toy Story; kids are invited to dress up as a character from their favourite film on the night. Later on The Model will also host an evening of musical performances curated by John Lambert aka Chequerboard.

The Blue Raincoat Theatre Company will host a number of workshops and tours at The Factory including a sculpture workshop with Bettina Seitz a samba workshop with master drummer Peter Crann and the ever-popular ceramic artist Lynda Gault will give a demonstration of her creative craft.
