Raw edgy lyrics with explosive acoustic guitar work, steeped in the flamenco and folk rock tradition, Albert Niland has created his unique sound, unlike any other and he plays the Hawk’s Well Theatre on Wednesday 31st of October at 8pm.
Best known for his acoustic version of “Wuthering Heights”, on Tom Dunne’s show in 2006, from his debut album “Dirty Day”, Albert has gone on to record six solo albums and build a loyal fanbase throughout Europe. Performing in the prestigious Naked Song Festival in Holland, the “International Guitar Festival”, in France, the Essaion Theatre in Paris, and recording a live album in the infamous “Paradiso” in Amsterdam in 2008, Niland has earned his reputation.
Having collaborated with Freddie White on numerous occasions, both live, and in recordings, and having been invited to perform at both the reunions of Planxty, and Moving Hearts in 2007, Niland has earned the respect of his peers. In a recent article, the SUNDAY TIMES said …
“Albert has yet to achieve the widespread recognition his talent merits..”
