March 17th: The Speks return to Hawk’s Well to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

The Speks

The Speks

Regular visitors to the Hawk’s Well The Speks return to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, performing their nursery rhymes and sing along songs for 2-7 year olds just after the parade at 2pm.  Following three sold out performances at the Hawk’s Well over the past two years the Speks are now firm favourites with Sligo toddlers and young children. A six-piece traditional Irish music band for children, the Speks live on a mysterious Island off the coast of Co. Clare called Glasses Island where everybody wears glasses! Their debut album recently won a prestigious Parents’ Choice music award in the US where their music has been described as ‘Riverdance for toddlers’ and ‘grown up music for kids.’ They perform their nursery rhymes and sing-along songs set to acoustic Irish music while encouraging kids to sing and dance along. This is a great, fun event for kids. Previous shows have sold out quickly so early booking is advised. The show takes place after the parade at 2pm.

Tickets to see the Speks on St. Patrick’s Day are only €5 per ticket. To join the Kids’ Club  at the Hawk’s Well and stay up to date with all the children’s events coming to the theatre, visit the Hawk’s Well Website, call the Box Office on 071 916 1518 or drop in to the theatre. Children who join the Kids’ club receive a membership card which they get stamped each time they visit. After four visits they receive a goodie bag!
